Smart2Trust

The Smart2Trust project aims to support and modernize the existing manufacturing sector with product traceability throughout the supply chain as well as the empowerment of the consumer for the immediate identification of the products and the strengthening of their confidence in the Greek production sector. Another important goal of Smart2Trust is to transform the traditional industrial environment using cutting-edge technologies for increased productivity and more flexible and attractive working conditions for employees. The fundamental component of the Smart2Trust system will be the assessment and storage of the explicit and tacit knowledge created on the shop floor by aggregating a set of heterogeneous smart devices and sensors and extracting context-aware information based on their measurements.

The distribution of this knowledge will be based on five (5) important system tools. Firstly, a smart sensor network to monitor the critical parameters of the production process in real time. Secondly, a Decision Support System (DSS) for better understanding of the involved production processes and functions. Thirdly, a set of the tools using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support processes in a production line by using augmented reality (AR) and displaying 3D models for employee education/training. The fourth tool is to improve the attractiveness of production sites and the education/training of workers that will be enhanced with a gamification platform. Finally, a tool based on Blockchain technology for the traceability of the produced products in the supply chain and the identification of products by consumers.

Smart2Trust will also utilise the aggregated knowledge in order to leverage the control and re-adaptation of facilities and streamline the workload (Human Behaviour Analysis). In order to enhance working experience and thus increase the workplace attractiveness, augmented reality and gamification approaches will be utilized. Additionally modern wearable devices (AR Glasses, Tablets) will allow the interaction of workers with the system without disrupting their workflow. All foreseen Smart2Trust products will be deployed and evaluated in industrial sites representing feedstock (Viozois SA). Validation will assess the impact and reveal the capabilities of Smart2Trust towards the promotion of novel and viable business models for increased innovation potential, flexibility and productivity, while enhancing workplace attractiveness.
