Industry has shown the potential of data-driven and AI powered algorithms for predictive maintenance (PdM) & dynamic asset management services in small scale trials. In parallel embryonic data spaces & strategic European infrastructures for digital sovereignty in manufacturing are now set; i.e. EDIH network, AI TEF facilities; DSSC support centre; DOME marketplace, OSS Data Space connectors & evaluation facilities. To bring such potential at scale, SM4RTENANCE exploits all those manufacturing assets to deploy a data space federation. The development of collaborative PdM solutions demands a cross-sectorial approach that cannot be achieved by just individually extending services and capabilities of individual data space initiatives. SMARTENANCE objective is:
• Harmonise and facilitate a data space federation bringing together embryonic data spaces DAW Aero Data Marketplace, SCSN, Catena-X, BAIDATA and new Manufacturing-X initiative.
• Modernise asset IoT and PdM service platforms to provide native connection and support to data sharing solutions.
• Demonstrate and evaluate the performance of multi-lateral digital value chains for collaborative and circular maintenance business applications in 5 sectors of strategic business impact for European industrial sovereignty.
• Support data space participation with dedicated skill up programmes, EDIH services and clear guidelines, code of conduct and industrial agreements across the data space federation.
SM4RTENANCE will implement two types of trials (1) collaborative business app trials, intended to assess the resilience, circularity, sustainability and accuracy of asset 4.0. (2) interworking and federation trials to assess the performance of the data space continuum services. Trials will be implemented bringing together specific factories from the consortium (AVL, SIE, PIACENZA) and interested stakeholders (AIRBUS, Leonardo, AVIO, VW, BMW) from associated ecosystems (ATLAS, IMECH, Catena-X, Manufacturing-X, SCSN, BAIDATA).
