The Location3 platform focuses on the development of new technologies for the storage, indexing and search of audiovisual material, and the creation and promotion of enhanced storyboarding with virtual reality projection aimed at location scouting areas of interest for audiovisual productions and supporting and promoting audiovisual producers in Greece and internationally. The Location3 platform will record audiovisual material with geodetic and temporal information with automatic embedding of material characterization tags using deep learning algorithms with support for manual tagging. It will enable the end user to search for possible shooting points using a combination of appropriate labels including materials and objects in colors, historical elements, architectural features, emotional associations, and similar audiovisual material. Through appropriate enhanced storyboarding tools, it will enable the addition of audiovisual content to the source material from each site. For example, the user will be able to choose to see the specific point or path from multiple view angles (depending on the 3D material provided for each location) both on regular screen display using a virtual camera located in selected locations on the site or with the use of a special VR head-mounted display. With a dedicated mobile application, anyone can capture and store their own audiovisual material and location information through a camera sharing app. B2B services between co-operating companies providing audiovisual and 3D geodetic material, local operators and interested film companies, production companies etc. will also be provided so that those interested in a location can receive additional material beyond the one available on the platform and have access to services relevant to the planning and execution of productions on a location (equipment, transport, catering, accommodation, etc.).
