Through the platform, the user can explore points of cultural interest in the Region of Central Macedonia without having to travel there, by watching a live or video tour or enjoying a mixed reality experience using a 360 camera. The tours will be provided in the visitor’s language, including sign language. With the GuideLive platform, the tour experience integrates new multimodal features, allowing users to navigate spaces with panoramic views during the tour through high-resolution 360 camera imaging. Users can explore the space as if they were physically present, either outdoors or indoors, observing even the smallest details. Additionally, users have the option to view 3D objects placed within the space where feasible, upgrading the tour to a Mixed Reality (MR) experience.

The platform will contribute to several goals, such as improving competitiveness and promoting the tourism product, creating new jobs in the region, establishing it as a year-round tourism destination, and leveraging the growing interest in tourism for people with special needs and/or elderly individuals through technologies focused on independent living for the elderly and active aging.

Specifically, regarding Accessibility, the platform will provide the following: For users with hearing impairments, they will be able to choose either a guide who knows sign language or a “translator” in sign language, who will appear on the user’s screen and “translate” what the guide explains. This feature will be available for live tours as well as pre-recorded (on-demand) tours. Additionally, pre-recorded tours will support subtitles in the language chosen by the user. For users with vision impairments, there will be audio guidance during the tour, which can be customized according to the degree of vision impairment.
