GREEN asty PARKING is an industrial, innovative electromechanical parking management system that accommodates 8 to 16 parking spaces per tower, either aboveground or underground, which multiplies parking spaces, while occupying minimal space. GREEN asty PARKING incorporates innovative, integrated parking management through artificial intelligence (AI) within the framework of smart cities. It will incorporate various advanced technologies in software and IT (Internet of Things, Big Data, mobile applications), so that the entire process of finding a parking space, booking, payment, and vehicle placement is simplified, saves time for users, and contributes to reducing emissions.

CERTH/ITI is responsible for the following project results:
A back-end cloud infrastructure has been developed that includes the main database and an appropriate Application Programming Interface (API) for accessing it via the Internet. The database stores data about parking place and interconnected towers. Moreover, a specific hardware/software interface has been implemented for allowing data exchange between the backend and the PLC, as well as cameras for plate recognition.

A web dashboard has been developed for enabling central control and management of the various interconnected towers for authorized users. The dashboard supports the following functionalities: Displays any updates about any issues that are related to the operation of the parking places with direct implications on the safety of the drivers or parked cars; shows notifications about drivers’ requests for assistance; presents data analytics about the usage of the parking places over time; adds a new tower and its characteristics, e.g. location, type, number of parking spaces, etc.; conducts and presents demand prediction data per area and timeslot in order to allow for dynamic pricing policies.

End user mobile application (Android and iOS). Its main features include: information about available parking places for each nearby tower, availability and price for a given district, time and date, search for available parking lot based on current or selected location, reservation of a parking place, online payment, navigation instructions, online location-based and timely offers, best route recommendation, rewarding of drivers (free parking time), etc.
