EEOBSS

EEOBSS will develop and adapt to Bulgarian educational standards a modern online (and in print) textbook on Earth observation for Bulgarian secondary schools. The textbook will be available for download upon registration at the project site in the second half of 2017 for the six partner schools participating in the project and for all stakeholders and interested parties. EEOBSS will receive support in matters of adapting and improving existing e-learning modules and other relevant promotional material in relation with remote sensing applications by CERTH/ITI. EEOBSS will initiate and support a number of educational, communication and media events aimed at reaching a wider audience of students and their teachers. In the middle of 2017 a summer school will be held in Sofia aiming at familiarizing students of Bulgarian secondary schools with the theoretical and practical aspects of Earth Observation. Towards the end of 2017, within the annual scientific conference -with international participation – “Space, Ecology, Security” 2017 (Space, Ecology, Safety), EEOBSS will hold a workshop to promote the objectives of the project, at which current trends in training in Earth Observation in secondary education both in Europe and nationwide will be presented and discussed. The concluding event of the EEOBSS project will celebrate the completion of the project with various activities. CERTH/ITI will have an active role in all the events with targeted speeches and material about the introduction of remote sensing in the secondary education.
