The scope of the E-Land project is addressing the needs of school teachers of two representative educational institutions in a manner that will facilitate the formulation of teachers’ online communities of practice (evolving from initial online communities of learning). This will be achieved by studying how a set of different vendors’ software tools are used in the day-to-day teaching activities, and how these activities can be enriched and furthermore supported if the teachers participate in communities of practice and are furthermore supported by repositories of reusable learning resources. The objectives of the proposed project are the following:

The design and development of interoperable learning resources repositories that will support indexing and storing of learning objects.
The design and development of the web-based environment that will support the formulation of online communities of learning.
The design and development of the methodological framework that will support the formulation of online communities of learning, and their innovative integration in different school environments.
The design and execution of innovative experiments in real school environments.
