Dr. Sokratis-Dimitrios Komaris received his M.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and his MSc. (2014) and PhD (2018) degrees in Biomedical engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. In 2018 he joined University College Cork, Tyndall Institute of Technology, Ireland, as a Postdoctoral researcher. He has been a lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at Aston University, UK (2021-2024), and he has supervised 2 PhD and over 10 MSc theses. In 2024, he joined the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) in the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) as a researcher. His research interests include clinical gait analysis and biomechanical assessment, injury prevention, acoustic emission monitoring, and wearables for sports performance and clinical applications.
