Iakovos Theodorou Michailidis, was born on the 27th of July 1986 in Ptolemaida, Kozani and grew up in Amindeo, a nearby small town located in North-Western Greece.
He graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Polytechnic School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in November 2010. During his undergraduate studies he worked on selective coordination of protective devices and short circuit analysis (IEC60909) on energy distribution networks within his diploma thesis.
He received his Ph.D. Diploma from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Polytechnic School in Democritus University of Thrace in April 2016. His main research interests during his post-graduate studies were related to Optimal & Adaptive Control In Large-Scale Sensor Networks.
In November 2019 he graduated from the cross-department post-graduate program in Business Administration of the University of Macedonia, focusing his research on data-driven Internal Quality Control systems.
In October 2022 he received his MSc diploma in Artificial Intelligence from the Computer Science Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His research interests during his studies focused on Planning systems for applied rationale BDI agents.
He is currently conducting research in the area of Energy Efficient Building Climate Control. He is also working on applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques for various energy and building indexes as well as on smartening legacy systems using low-cost approaches.
In addition, he is occupied with research areas related to Locally Linearized System Identification, Convex Control Design Transformations, Model Based and Model Free (adaptive) techniques for Efficient Control in Large Scale Systems and Distributed (Agent-Driven) Adaptive and Optimal Control in Cyber Physical systems.
