Gkarmpounis Giwrgos received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th) in November 2009. He has extensive experience in the industrial and manufacturing sectors. Since March 2023, he has been working as a research assistant in the Information Technologies Institute (I.T.I) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CE.R.T.H.).

His research interests include machine learning, deep learning, image & video processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, bioinformatics and medical imaging.
