Dr. George Karantaidis is a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Information Technologies Institute (ITI), Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), Thessaloniki, Greece.

He received his PhD in Computer Science from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the field of Signal Processing and Information Analysis, as a Scholar of Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI). He holds a Diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a Master of Science Degree in Computational Intelligence and Digital Media from School of Informatics of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master of Science Degree in Geoinformatics from School of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

His main research interests are in the area of deep learning, signal and image processing, and multimedia forensics. He has participated in European and National research projects. He is also a member of the Multimedia Analysis, Verification and Retrieval team (MeVer, https://mever.iti.gr).
